Virgin Voyages is one of the many companies owned by the Virgin Group.  As you may know the Virgin Group is known for brands like the ever popular Virgin Airways.  With Virgin Voyages, the Virgin Group has gone that extra step in defining and separating their brand with their Adults Only cruises.

There are some key phrases you should know as read on.  Virgin Voyages calls their customers “Sailors” which I think is a fun way to include you as a guest.  Travel Agents like me are called “First Mates”...Arrr Matey!  Finally they call themselves a rebel with a cause, which is great, because the Virgin brand has always done it their way and Virgin Voyages is no different.

Virgin Voyages is the rebel because they are the first cruise line to cater to Adults Only.  Which is amazing and innovative, but something that should have been approached years ago.  So, thank you Virgin for finally taking this step and creating a place for adults to enjoy their vacations, well, as an adult.

Your Cabin Experience

So let’s start with your Adults Only Onboard Experience. Virgin offers five types of cabins ranging from the Mega Rockstar to the Insider cabin. Here is what you can expect for each category.  Keep in mind each of the categories offers different levels so that your experience can be customized to your specific needs and wants.

Mega RockStar Quarters

The Mega RockStar Quarters is of course the finest of the finest and you can expect some great perks when you choose this cabin.  They sleep 2-4 people and can range in size from 570 sq. ft. to a much larger 2167 sq. ft.  The amenities include premium Wi-Fi, a bottomless in-cabin bar, complimentary drinks around the ship, spa access, and private transfers to/from the port. Also you will have a RockStar agent personally dedicated to you and your needs.

You will also have access to Richard’s Rooftop which is a members only sundeck offering a panoramic view of the ocean.  Richards Rooftop includes access to lavish cocktail hours and late night parties that most guests will not get to experience.  This is truly a Mega RockStar experience.

RockStar Quarters

The RockStar Quarters offers cabins for 2-4 people and square footage of 352 - 857 sq. ft.  These nicely appointed cabins offer plenty of space to relax and offer many additional perks. You can expect access to some of the same perks as the Mega RockStar, but with some limitations.

You would still have access to Richard’s Rooftop, but your beverage options, although still complimentary, are selected by Virgin. You also don’t get the daily spa experience.  So you are not missing out on that much and would still get that RockStar experience.  Just not the Mega one!

Additional Cabins

Moving out of the high-end cabins there are three more affordable options, yet still luxurious.  The Sea Terrace is your Balcony Suite which sleeps 2-4 and offers 225 - 265 sq. ft.  Included for all Sailors in this category are Wi-Fi, all food, basic beverages, tips and group workouts.  

Next is your Sea View, which essentially means you have a cabin with a window.  A large window, but it stays closed, so no sea breeze, but still a great view.  The Sea View cabins can sleep 1 - 3 people and are 130 -190 sq. ft.  They include Wi-Fi, all food, tips, basic beverages and group workouts. 

Finally, we move to the Insider, and here is the inside information on this cabin.  You will honestly never sleep better.  If you are a late sleeper or are truly looking to get rest, I always recommend the insider.  This cabin can be for 1-4 people and is 177 sq. ft.   The Insider includes Wi-Fi, all food, tip, group workouts and basic beverages, oh and did I mention it comes with the best sleep of your life.

Eat and Be Merry, Your Dining Experience

Virgin Voyages offers over 20 foodie approved eateries (that is a direct quote from Virgin), so as a foodie, I am all in!

• The Test Kitchen - Cooking Lab & Restaurant
• Razzle Dazzle - Vegetarian-Forward
• Gunbae - Korean BBQ
• Pink Agave - Upscale Mexican 
• Extra Virgin - Elevated Italian
• The Dock - Mezze Lounge
• Lick Me Till Ice Cream - Scoop Shop
• Grounds Club - Coffee Shop
• Draught House - Tap Room
• Sip - Champagne Lounge 
• Doc House - Casual Mediterranean
• On The Rocks - Cocktail Bar
• Loose Cannon - Social Club

So as you can see there are plenty of options with some fun and creative names, for any level of taste bud.

A few things to note about Virgin Voyages basic beverages are included, such as sparkling water, non-pressed juices, sodas, teas and even drip coffee.  Tips are built in so no need to carry cash or have any concerns that your servers aren’t being taken care of.  They also offer 24 hour delivery service, which is great for those late night munchies.

Virgin Voyages does not offer you a typical cruise line unlimited beverage package, but then again, they are not your typical cruise line.  They do however offer you a great cocktail experience and plenty of fun options.  With Virgin Voyages if you purchase a $300 prepaid Bar Tab, they will offer you an extra $50 to spend on those cocktails!  They also pride themselves on not overpricing the cocktails, but keeping them at a reasonable price for your enjoyment.

Entertainment

Virgin Voyages also has plenty of entertainment options for you on your adults only cruise.  They offer two types of events and gigs onboard.  They call them Out among the sailors or venue events.

Events

• Phantom Folktales offer a collection of song-driven micro plays throughout the ship and can appear out of thin air.
• Dinner Theatre, an intimate experience with dance and circus acts.
• Never Sleep Alone, a participatory show featuring Dr. Alex Shiller a straight talking relationship therapist.
• Duel Reality, a Shakespearean tale told through circus acts.
• Ship in the night, where dance and technology combine a live music video experience.
• Untitled Danceshowpartything, indescribable show/party unlike anything you have experienced.

Venues

• The Manor - Two Story, Three Bar Space.  This will keep you rolling from late night to early morning.
• The Aquatic Club - A glam, contemporary pool deck.  You could roll out from The Manor and straight to here for your recovery or restart.
• The Red Room - A Multi-Form theatre that can be used as a stage or a dancefloor.
• The Beach Club - A private Bimini experience you will get nowhere else.  
• Voyage Vinyl - A Music lover's dream with magazines, headphones and record players.
• The Groupie - Japanese style karaoke room.  
• And there is so much more to come and experience.

Virgin Voyages is offering adults only sails on their first vessel, Scarlet Lady.  Due to Covid-19, her first voyage was delayed and is now set to sail on 12/02/2020 out of Miami.
