Dawn’s Dream Winery, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA: What a Dream!

Welcome to Sippin’ September. This month we are featuring thirty vineyards in thirty days. A challenge, we know, but a worthwhile challenge.  Travel with us on this journey.

For our first feature we would like to introduce Dawn’s Dream.  Dawn’s Dream is located in Carmel-by-the-Sea, in California. This fantastic winery will be not only be our first feature, but also our only NON-ARIZONA winery during this event.

We have chosen Dawn’s Dream for a few reasons.  First off, they offer really tasty wines (our shipment should be here later this month), but also the message of caring and charity they offer is beyond anything we have ever seen.

Dawn’s Dream was opened by the wife of a local California winery owner, who had a dream to do more charitable work.  She came up with the idea to make wines and give to charitable organizations. She opened Dawn’s Dream with that idea in hand.  The month we were visiting was a campaign for Special Olympics. For every bottle you purchased, a portion was donated to the Special Olympics.  They often have celebrities or other well known folks, such as the Mayor, come in and host events to help the monthly chosen cause. For us, this is the best of both worlds, you get great wines and you also get to participate in important causes.

While we were visiting Doug, a Tasting Room Associate, told us that the copper tub in the tasting room is actually famous. As far as we understand, these are the first advertising photos that were taken for the winery and now they are part of the history.  Seriously you should google this. Derek crawled in and I snapped a few of him being the sexy beast he is.

The winery features a Pinot Noir for each of Dawn’s three daughters, which we think is pretty cool.  We ended up purchasing three bottles of their 2017 “Nicole” Pinot Noir to be shipped to us at a time when it is not so hot in Arizona.  The shipping fee they charge is downright reasonable at $19 dollars per shipment.

Stay tuned for more on Dawn’s Dream, we were able to make contact with their marketing rep and send her a set of questions.  Dawn’s Dream will be getting a double feature this month, so check back later for more information on this unique winery.

Be sure to check out the rest of Sippin' September!

Living, loving, drinking, and traveling through life.
