The Javelina Leap Winery Tasting Room is along the Page Springs trail of vineyards. It is small and quaint, one of the things we love about it.
The outdoor section is so pretty and calming and they have some unique fun art out front, like little faces on the trees and a Javelina fixture. They have plenty of seating out front along with a really nice gazebo. The vines are right there as well and I always find this to be such a cool experience.
The tasting room is small, really small, but I love it so much. It has some fun little artsy items and you can get their local truffles and local cheese as well. The tasting here is $12 for four wines, so a little more on the costly side than most of your tastings. We did the red, are we getting tired of hearing me say we only drink reds?
The tasting consisted of:
- Sangiovese
- Tempranillo
- Zinfandel
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Merlot
- Syrah
- Petite Sirah
The people behind the bar are really nice, and we do enjoy it when we visit here. We really enjoy the experience and I can’t really tell you anything that you have not already heard about the varietals listed above, they all taste like they should.
I can tell you that the price point for the wines is much higher than I am willing to pay, when I can get a wine as good as these for half that price. Most of their reds are in the $40-50 range, and the most expensive one on the menu is $65. You all know we love our Arizona wines, but I am not willing to break the bank on one bottle of wine. Especially when there are so many others that taste as good and some that taste better.
You will love the venue and the wines are for sure worth the tasting. So swing by when you can and enjoy. Hopefully you won’t see an actual Javelina, those things will chase you!
