Good News In 2021!

Live Love Drink Travel, LLC is now an IATAN Agency. 2020 was a challenging year to earn this status, but with your help we succeeded. IATAN's accreditation recognizes the diversified and versatile U.S. travel professional who can and will continue to meet universally recognized requirements and who sell travel and travel related services.

Travel in January 2021

It is cold pretty much everywhere in the U.S. in January. So the idea of going someplace…anyplace, warm right now is on the minds of many. I highly recommend pretty much anywhere in the Caribbean at this time. It is outside of Hurricane season, the weather is perfect right now, and the Caribbean is always beautiful.

Plane tickets to the Caribbean are fairly inexpensive at the moment. For example you can travel at the end of January and into February from Miami, FL to Montego Bay, Jamaica for under $250 round trip. As a matter of fact you can fly to almost any Caribbean location for under $300 from Miami. I checked prices for someone like me who lives on the West Coast and prices were around $400 round trip. Still not too shabby for a nice warm beach vacation.

Once there, you have numerous options for hotels, resorts and condos. There are All-Inclusive (AI) options or European plans. European plans simply mean they are not AI and you are paying for room only, not meals.

There is plenty to do in any Caribbean location. Or if you prefer you can just sip cocktails on the beach or at the pool.

COVID-19 Regulations for the Caribbean

As you know COVID regulations are fluid and can change from day to day, so always talk to your Travel Expert (that’s me) first. As of this writing each Caribbean area has a different policy. Most will require a negative COVID-19 PCR Test that has been taken within 72 hours of your departure. This is actually fairly easy to get completed. I always recommend working with a Travel Expert (that’s me) so that they can offer very important assistance and information regarding your COVID testing. At this time the only location in the Caribbean not requiring COVID test would be in the Dominican Republic.

Travel Areas That Do Not Require COVID Testing

If you would like to travel but are hesitant or not interested in going through the process of getting a COVID test and can fly you can go pretty much anywhere in Mexico right now.

If you are on the West Coast like I am, then prices for flights are amazing right now! You can fly from Phoenix, AZ to Cancun for around $200 round trip. From Miami, around the same pricing, so from the East or West, it is very affordable.

Please note though that the U.S./Mexico border is currently still closed for non-essential travel. The only exception is the Lukeville, Arizona crossing which is open for access to Puerto Peñasco. Talk to your Travel Expert (that’s me) for guidance on crossing the border.

Where To Stay In Mexico

Mexico is a large area and we would love to find the best place to fit your needs. There are plenty of options, again with AI or European plans available. Whether you just hang out on the beach or we set up an adventure for you, warm sunny weather is on the agenda.

Where Have We Been Lately?

I Love Aruba Sculpure
I Love Aruba

In December Derek and I made a week-long trip to Aruba. I cannot recommend Aruba enough. Derek and I travel often and have been blessed enough to visit many places. We often do not visit the same place twice because we enjoy the adventure in a new location. But, Aruba, oh Aruba, how we loved thee. We will be back and sooner rather than later.e completed the COVID testing and had our test back in 36 hours. We then uploaded this information into the app they require for you to download, EdCardAruba. This is where you register for your trip and enter all information about your arrival, departure, accommodations and your COVID testing.

We are savvy enough that we saved everything to our Google Drive so that if there was something we missed we would still have access. Thank goodness we did. We needed to access our test results no less than four times before checking into our accommodations. If you want to go to Aruba, please call me. The process is actually very simple, but there are many steps you need to prepare for.

Aruba is one of the safest places I have been since COVID started. You must wear a mask indoors and you cannot enter anyplace such as stores, restaurants or hotels without sanitizing your hands upon entry. They offer sanitation stands at the door for entry and exit. The hotel had a sanitizer at each entry for the elevator and one on the elevator. This is so that you push no buttons until you have sanitized your hands. It became such a habit by the time we left that we were shocked at how little the States are doing in comparison in reducing the spread of COVID. Aruba just goes to show you that you can go about your business so long as you take the necessary precautions.

Again, we highly recommend visiting Aruba. Not only do you have gorgeous beaches,
great excursions and some of the nicest locals, but you feel very safe there. Call me to help book your next vacation, which should be to Aruba!

So Where Are We Going Next?

Currently we are planning a trip with my brother-in-law, his wife and my mom. We have not yet decided where we will go, but here are a few of the places we are looking into:

  • Costa Rica
  • Barbados
  • Belize
  • Cancun
  • Cabo
  • Aruba (I told you I was going back)

We are planning this trip for late February or early March. We will keep you posted on that trip.

What Are We Doing In January?

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!

January is the month of “Get ‘er Done”

Not only will be expanding training, but we will be looking into planning a few events for you. Would you like to win $250 toward your next vacation? How about a bottle of wine from one of Arizona’s finest vineyards? Join us for a Zoom Game Night? More details to come on that. Please watch your email for more information.

The not so fun stuff we have to do in January, are of course our taxes and some
business planning! Not the most fun things to do, but they are must do’s and we just want to “Get ‘er Done”!

After the very interesting year of 2020, we felt it was time to do a good detox. What does that mean? Eating clean, exercising more, and clearing out negativity of any kind. Join us on the 10 day journey to a clear and healthy mind and body and a successful start to 2021. We start this journey on January 10th, let us know if you want to hear more about our plan.
